On June 4th, we organized the seminar “Opportunities and Challenges for the Use of Green Hydrogen in Chilean Mining” as part of Exponor 2024, and we are thrilled with the great turnout and interest shown by the attendees
The event featured presentations and three discussion panels moderated by our President, Johan Dreyer, and Project Leader, Matias Lagos Plaza. The panels focused on crucial topics for the development of green hydrogen (H2V) in mining and included participation from prominent experts:
- H2V and e-fuels production:
- Panelists: Gonzalo Lolas Illanes, Marco Vaccarezza y Magdalena Ossa Hurtado.
- Pilot projects in Chilean mining:
- Panelists: Paulina Arriaza Toro, Ricardo Repenning Bzdigian, Andrés González Cornejo y Byron Hurtubia.
- Logistics and value chain of H2V projects:
- Panelists: Lindley Maxwell, Carlos Busso y M. Cristina Gallardo Diez.
Additionally, we had an outstanding presentation by Roberto Parra from the University of Concepción, who spoke about the initiative to use H2V for copper concentrate processing.
One of the great highlights of the seminar was the presentation of the first electrolyzer and H2V-powered bicycle at an exhibition in northern Chile, bringing this innovative technology closer to the Antofagasta community and facilitating collaboration opportunities among all stakeholders in the ecosystem.
